Hey there! I’m Sarah.

I’m the face behind Blueberry Hill Photography! It’s hard to believe I’ve been doing this for more than a decade now because I have so much fun doing what I do!

I grew up in Anchorage, left for a spell in college, and then realized Alaska was in my bones. I moved back, met and married the sweetest man in the world. Fast forward a few years, and we now have two amazing kids, a flock of four chickens, and a betta fish named Hank. I love taking pictures of my crew, and use photography as my diary. (I have a terrible memory too, so I love having pictures to remind me.)

I feel naked without a camera or some creative project in the works. I believe the best remedy for a bad day is blasting 90’s music while driving with the windows down— no matter the weather. There is nothing better than blueberry picking in the mountains, a cup of coffee and a good book, or a cozy night with friends.

I’ve had two maternity sessions with Sarah, and both times she was willing to freeze while keeping a fun, upbeat attitude the whole time. She would check the back of the camera and exclaim, “Oh yeah!” “More of that!” Her encouragement and excitement helped me drop into my emotions and because of that her work truly captured the joy of my pregnancy. Not to mention, she also helped me style the shoot by sending me dress ideas and she knew of fantastic locations. I just showed up and had fun!

In December my family had the wonderful opportunity to have our photos taken by Sarah. We booked a Christmas mini session and it was nothing short of magical! We’ve done mini sessions with other photographers before and it was a disaster every time. This session was not rushed in any way and was relaxing from start to finish. My family does not do well in front of the camera but somehow Sarah captured the love and goofiness of us all without any of our awkwardness. They are my favorite photos and I can’t wait to book with her again!

In case you are looking for a photographer and are reading these reviews trying to decide, do not search further. Sarah is the best you can wish for! She is incredibly kind and funny and makes you feel at ease during the full photo session. On top, she is super organized and captures even the smallest details. And most important for your search, her work is stunning!! We absolutely love the pictures she took and are tremendously happy we chose her after reading her reviews here last year! Currently our only concern is how to beam her to Germany to picture all the rest of our photo sessions
