Let’s Talk Covid

 
 

All the latest info and policies to keep us all safe.

It’s no secret these are beyond cuckoo times— and it’s no secret that Covid-19 is hard on businesses. It’s been hard to watch my business— something I’ve poured so much time, energy, love, resources, tears into— suffer. And what’s been even harder, is trying to navigate what is best for my business, my family, and for me in all of this. I fall into the high-risk category thanks to some lovely respiratory conditions, and need to take extra precautions because if I get sick, this throws a much bigger wrench into my business than if I turn down a session here or there. Plus, as someone who works with lots of families, brand new babies, and grandparents— I need to do all I can to protect them too.

Here’s what I’ve come up with, but please know these policies will change depending on current stats, CDC/WHO guidelines, and my own comfort.

  1. I will not be scheduling any sessions with a client if they have traveled in/out of Alaska within the last two weeks. If you have traveled, please let me know and we will schedule accordingly. If you’re only going to be in Alaska for a short period of time, I’ll have to catch you on your next visit.

  2. I am pro-mask. If you’re not, that’s your thing— but I need to know that before our session. I will be wearing a mask at our session, and will try my best to maintain a six-foot distance while shooting.

  3. At this point, I am not taking indoor sessions or weddings larger than 10 people. I’m hoping to revisit this stipulation as things change over time, so please feel free to still inquire if your date is late 2020 or beyond.

  4. If you (or anyone in your group) is feeling sick, has any symptoms of Covid, has been in the presence of someone with Covid, has a pending Covid test (or a positive test) the session will be rescheduled. No ifs, ands, or buts.

  5. Rescheduling is a fact of life right now. Both clients and myself have to be comfortable with the necessity of a Plan B. All fees/retainers/deposits will be put toward the rescheduled session.

I understand that everyone has different comfort levels with this virus, but these are my own personal comfort levels. If any of these things sound uncomfortable or impossible to you, then (as long as we’re Living La Vida Covid) I’m not your photographer.
